Leaping across artistic and musical boundaries, GALA NYC was an ambitious, boundary-breaking and affordable music performance series BR|PR launched in Brooklyn, NY.
The one-of-a-kind series founded by pioneering cellist, composer and educator Mike Block, a lead artist in Yo Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble, featured world class performers in jazz, rock, folk, bluegrass, pop, and classical genres, visual artists, and dancers in a creative free-for-all.
BR|PR sold out every performance with high profile media coverage that included several New York Times pieces, in-depth Wall Street Journal and New Yorker features, weeklies Time Out New York, New York Magazine, and interviews/coverage on NPR, music blogs, and live television interviews and performances.
